Born and raised in Ranger, Texas, Mr. Herod earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from Abilene Christian University and his law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now, Texas A&M School of Law). Mr. Herod’s 8 years of legal experience encompass a broad expanse of litigation, appellate and transactional practice. Prior to joining The Gibson Law Group, Mr. Herod served as Associate General Counsel for FTS International. As in-house counsel, Mr. Herod represented his corporate client in all phases of litigation. For 5 years, Mr. Herod counseled his client and company management on a wide variety of legal issues, including administrative actions, commercial litigation, employment and labor litigation, personal injury litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Herod had primary responsibility for handling all administrative proceedings on behalf of FTS International and routinely dealt with federal and state agencies (EEOC, DOT, MSHA, OSHA, TCEQ and TWC). Mr. Herod has substantial experience in employment and labor issues, including multi-plaintiff wage and hour collective action. He managed FTS’ defense on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour claims, workers’ compensation retaliation, equal pay and contract claims. Mr. Herod routinely rendered legal advice to FTS’ human resource professionals and company management on employment issues, including handbook and policy issues, employee misconduct, and leave and accommodation administration. Before FTS, Mr. Herod gained appellate experience as a briefing attorney for the Eleventh Court of Appeals of Texas. In his free time, Reagan Herod is an avid runner and has run 3 marathons, including the Boston Marathon in 2012.
